Maleficent Themed Outfit!

If you saw Disney's new film Maleficent, you might just be as amazed and obsessed as I am!  I knew that I would love the movie, and decided to dress to the theme!

I took pictures to share with you all. :]

 

This is how I did my nails for the movie!  I chose a very pretty color of purple I received recently and did an accent nail with green glitter.  Then I drew Maleficent's horns on another finger nail.

To do the glitter nail I used "Nail Rock" which allows you to put sequins on your finger nails.

This is what is inside the kit, the sequins and the nail adhesive polish.

You apply the adhesive, then dip your finger into the glitter.

It's a bit messy, but really eye catching!

I then drew on the horns and added some lines to make them look more intricate and interesting!

I got this Maleficent t-shirt from TeeFury.com, a website that sells one of a kind geeky t-shirts for cheap.  They only have them for a day, unless you get a random one in a grab bag, which is how I got this one!

I have actually gotten a lot of compliments on this shirt!

Here is another way you can do your nails, which is much simpler! I've really been feeling purple lately! [Ignore the fact that I hadn't cleaned them up for this picture!] 

Then, to round it all out, I made a Maleficent horn case!  I used glitter and some glue, and a bit of time!

I LOVE the way it sparkles!!!

Influenster's Varsity Vox Box: NYC New York Color's Big Bold Gloss

I was lucky enough to be chosen to receive one of Influenster's latest VoxBoxes: The Varsity VoxBox.  I love this box.  It has products that are aimed towards college students, which is perfect for me!  It contains NYC New York Color's Big Bold Plumping and Shine Lip Gloss, Kiss's Nail Dress Nail Adhesives, Clearasil Daily Clear Refreshing Superfruit Wash, Airheads Xtreme Bites, and Tide PODS.  

 As you can see, all of the products are very reasonably priced, which is great for college students!!

One of my favorite products in this box was the NYC lip gloss.  It is very sheer in color, but still adds a little pigment, which is great for people like me who are very pale.  It adds some color to me so that I look healthy, instead of dead.  It goes on with a slight tingle, but it isn't uncomfortable like some plumping lipglosses.  

  It really is a gorgeous color.  It isn't too big or too small of a tube.  You definitely have a lot of product in there, but you can put it in your pocket.  I have worn it on its own, as well as over lipsticks and I love it for both! For being a pretty thick [but comfortable] lipgloss, it really isn't sticky like you might imagine it to be.  

 Here is a picture of the applicator, which I think is quite nice.  It's soft but effective.

 Another angle of the applicator.  It really is huge compared to other lip glosses.  This makes it very quick to apply, another appealing factor to college students!

If I would have to rate it I would definitely give it 5/5, or in Influenster terms, an A.  It's easy to apply and really spruces up any looks.  I am definitely going to buy this lipgloss in other shades.  

I recently wore it to a family party and found the color to be very complimentary with my skin color and very comfortable as well.  In this picture I am wearing it over an orangey lipstick.  

Ignore my kind of odd expression here.  The lipgloss is quite long lasting!  It held through my lunch and apple juice!

 Here my lipgloss is still on after eating cheese and crackers with my cousin.

 Seen here is my apple juice, and rather odd tights.

DIY Glitter Phone Cases!

Hey guys! I recently decided I wanted to revamp my phone and bought some accessories for it!

I first went to Amazon.com and bought a plain clear plastic phone case.  I got 3 for about $6 including shipping.  They took a while to get to me, but they were really cheap! Then I started getting everything else for it.

For this project you'll need:

• ModPodge
• Plain Phone Case, or something plastic to decorate
• Glitter
• Other Decorations
• Sponge Brush
• E6000, or another tough adhesive
• [Optional: Nail Clippers]

This is a pretty cheap craft if you already have some of the supplies.

Make sure the surface is clean, then dab on ModPodge and add glitter to where you want it! I chose to do a striped design, so I did this four separate times.

 I dabbed the ModPodge on with a cheap sponge brush from Michael's.  They have them for very little money, and you can get several for $1.  You could use a regular brush but I don't recommend it.  It will destroy a regular brush. 

 I waited a little bit after each coat of glitter, then went back over each one with the same color.  To seal the glitter, go over it all with a coat of ModPodge. Just ModPodge.  This will take away a lot of the shine and glitz, but it's necessary to keep the glitter on! Once I sealed it with the ModPodge I then sprinkled on a bit more on top to maintain the sparkle! This way it will still be sparkly but won't lose all of it's glitter.

You can use this technique on anything plastic! I then did it to my dad's pill bottle. He was surprisingly pleased. 

 These are the buttons I used! Michael's has tons of these in different themes and designs! I chose to do a princess theme.

 The problem with these is that they have button holes on the bottom of them.  But they are easily taken off with nail clippers!

 These are some I found for my cousin.  Her baby shower theme was tractors!

I also got these for the same cousin, but for her daughter!

Once you snip off the back of the buttons, take E6000 and put a little on the back of the button.  Then put them where you want them and wait for them to dry.  Then your phone case is ready to go!

 I like this picture because of how sparkly it looks!

Here is a glitter design I did for my sister! It took a bit of time to do each stripe individually, but I think it was worth it.  It also isn't that involved, so you can do it while watching tv or something else!  Just dab on the ModPodge and sprinkle glitter into it.
